workshop entitled “From Pharmacy to Nursing: Understanding Medications, Dilution, and Administration.”

On February 9, 2026, the College of Nursing, in collaboration with the College of Pharmacy at Cihan University–Duhok, conducted a scientific workshop entitled “From Pharmacy to Nursing: Understanding Medications, Dilution, and Administration.” The workshop aimed to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthen students’ knowledge regarding safe medication practices.

The session began with a presentation delivered by pharmacy students Jawad Mudhafer and Azad Husain, who discussed the dosages, mechanisms of action, and potential side effects of selected antibiotics. Their presentation provided a pharmacological foundation essential for safe and effective medication administration.

This was followed by a presentation from Mr. Karzan Ismail, who explained the correct methods of medication dilution and administration, emphasizing accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to clinical guidelines.

Subsequently, nursing students Aveen Jafar, Aveen Othman, and Hala Ismail conducted a practical demonstration illustrating the proper preparation and administration of the discussed medications. The demonstration allowed participants to observe the clinical application of theoretical knowledge in a structured and professional manner.

The workshop concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, during which participants had the opportunity to clarify concepts and engage in academic discussion.

Overall, the workshop successfully promoted interdisciplinary learning and reinforced the importance of collaboration between nursing and pharmacy professionals in ensuring safe medication management.
