Following the directives of Prof. Dr. Zeravan Abdulmohsen Assad, President of Cihan University-Duhok, and as part of the university's commitment to community awareness and capacity building for various social sectors, a specialized First Aid training course was launched on July 12, 2026. This initiative is organized under the program of the university's "Zakat of Science" Foundation, in close cooperation with the Peshmerga Cultural Center.

The training course will run for one week and is specifically designed for:

- The Medical Field Unit (9th Division) of the Peshmerga.

The Medical Field Units of the brigades and battalions under the -(9th Division) of the Peshmerga.

The course is conducted by the following expert trainers:

Mr. Bassam Shawkat: International trainer and expert in anesthesia- and intensive care.

Mr. Rayan Sidqe: International trainer and Director of Medical- Laboratories at Cihan University-Duhok.
