The Search for the True Self in Walt Whitman's The Song of Myself
Today on (Mar 2, 2024) in the presence of the head of departments and lecturer a symposium entitled (The Search for the True Self in Walt Whitman's The Song of Myself), was presented by the Assistant Lecturer (Mr. Mohamed Muayad Yousif ) from the English department, Where it has been explained about Whitman's "Song of Myself" explores the concept of identity through the speaker's observations of the external world. He expresses how encountering myriad people and environments allows for deeper self-knowledge. By positioning himself as an everyman who has experienced many lives, Whitman presents the idea that one's true self is eternally evolving. Through absorbing diverse perspectives, the speaker works to accept himself fully within the grand scheme of existence, At the end of the symposium, a set of questions and answers were raised on this subject
