On Monday, 13 October 2025, the Medical Microbiology Department, in collaboration with the Clinical Biochemistry Department at Cihan University – Duhok, successfully organized a workshop titled:
“Bioterrorism: History, Impacts, and Future Risks,”
presented by Dr. Merwan Y. Huseyin and Mr. Shirwan H. Darweesh.
The workshop aimed to discuss the historical evolution of bioterrorism, its effects on global health and security, and the potential future risks posed by biological threats.
Moreover, the session highlight the need for scientific research, public health education, and international cooperation to strengthen biosecurity and prevent the spread of biological weapons.
