On April 30, 2026, two students from the Department of Medical Laboratory Analysis at Cihan University-Duhok, Lawin Jirjees and Sikvan Salam, participated in the "1st Annual Senior Science Conference," hosted by the University of Zakho. The students’ participation was supervised by Assistant Lecturer Helen Mustafa, the Rapporteur of the Anesthesia Department.

The students presented a research paper titled:
"Prevalence and Clinical Manifestations with Different Methods for Detection of Helicobacter pylori Infection in Gastrointestinal Disorders in Duhok, Iraq"

The study investigated the prevalence of Helicobacter pylori infection and its associated clinical symptoms, focusing on a comparative analysis of various laboratory diagnostic methods for patients with gastrointestinal disorders in Duhok Governorate. Furthermore, the research highlighted the clinical significance of the infection and the vital role of accurate diagnosis in enhancing treatment outcomes and prevention strategies.
