A debate entitled “Gender Inequality in Betty Smith’s A Tree Grows in Brooklyn” supervised by Ms. Helan H. Jangir and Ms. Chiyan M. Jamil, brings together students from the Department of General Education and the English Department to explore the representation of gender inequality in the novel.
