A Symposium entitled : Thyroid hormone functions and effects on some organs in the body
on (Oct 18, 2025) in the presence of the head of departments and lecturer a symposium entitled ( Thyroid hormone functions and effects on some organs in the body ), was presented by (Ms. Rozhee. Idrees Hasan ) from the Medical laboratory department , Where it has been explained about, The thyroid gland plays a vital role in regulating the body’s metabolism through the secretion of thyroid hormones, primarily thyroxine (Tâ) and triiodothyronine (Tâ). These hormones influence nearly every cell and organ system, acting to control the rate at which the body uses energy, synthesizes proteins, and responds to other hormones. Thyroid hormones are essential for growth, development, and metabolic balance, At the end of the symposium Thyroid hormones are essential regulators of growth, development, and metabolism in the human body. They influence the function of nearly every organ system — maintaining the brain’s activity, stimulating the heart and muscles, supporting digestion, and ensuring proper energy utilization. The balance of thyroid hormone secretion is vital for homeostasis; even small deviations can lead to significant physiological disturbances.
