A Symposium entitled: The role of AI in the Detection and Treatment of the Atrial Fibrillation

on (Oct 22, 2025) in the presence of the head of departments and lecturer a symposium entitled

The role of AI in the Detection and Treatment of the Atrial Fibrillation ), was presented by Assist lecturer (Layla Mohammed Salih) from the Nursing College , Where it has been explained about, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is transforming cardiovascular medicine, particularly in the detection and management of atrial fibrillation (AF). As one of the most prevalent and clinically significant cardiac arrhythmias, AF poses major challenges in diagnosis, risk stratification, and long-term management. Traditional diagnostic methods, such as electrocardiography (ECG) and Holter monitoring, often fail to detect paroxysmal or asymptomatic cases. AI-driven technologies—especially those utilizing deep learning and advanced signal processing—enable automated analysis of ECG data, continuous monitoring through wearable devices, and early identification of subtle rhythm abnormalities with high accuracy. Moreover, AI algorithms assist in predicting AF recurrence, optimizing anticoagulation therapy, and personalizing treatment strategies based on patient-specific data., At the end of the symposium Integrating AI into clinical workflows enhances diagnostic precision, facilitates timely interventions, and supports evidence-based decision-making. This seminar will explore the current applications, challenges, and future directions of AI in the diagnosis and treatment of atrial fibrillation, emphasizing its potential to improve cardiovascular outcomes and reduce global disease burden.
