A symposium entitled: Prediabetes: Risk Factors, Diagnosis, and Management

Today on (Sep 24, 2024)  in the presence of the symposium entitled (Prediabetes: Risk Factors, Diagnosis, and Management) was presented by Assistant Lecturer (Miss. Ava Hamdi Saeed) from the Medical Laboratory department, where it has been explained that Prediabetes is a condition characterized by elevated blood glucose levels that are not high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. It is a critical stage where timely intervention can prevent or delay the progression to diabetes. Factors such as obesity, sedentary lifestyle, and genetic predisposition play a significant role in its development. Early detection through screening and lifestyle modifications like healthy eating, increased physical activity and weight management are essential in managing prediabetes.
