A Symposium entitled: Life in a World without Microbes

on (Jun 23, 2025) in the presence of the head of departments and lecturer a symposium entitled (Life in a World without Microbes), was presented by (Assistant Lecturer Shirwan Hussein Darweesh) from the Medical laboratory department , Where it has been explained about, Microbes are often associated with disease, yet they play essential roles in sustaining life on Earth. This seminar explores the unseen yet profound impact of microorganisms on human health, the environment, agriculture, and industry. Through an engaging hypothetical scenario—what would happen if all microbes suddenly disappeared?—we highlight the vital functions of microbial life in digestion, nutrient cycling, food production, and ecological balance. Far from being mere germs, microbes are foundational to the survival of nearly every living system. Attendees will gain a deeper appreciation for the microbial world and its indispensable role in our daily lives., At the end of the symposium Microbes are not just invisible organisms—we depend on them for health, food, and the balance of nature. A world without microbes would be a world without life. By understanding their essential roles, we can better appreciate, protect, and coexist with the microscopic partners that make life on Earth possible.
