The delegation of Cihan University – Duhok continues its active participation in the events of the Global Sustainable Development Conference:
On Wednesday, June 18, 2025, as part of the World Conference on Sustainable Development held in Istanbul, Turkey, a delegation from Cihan University - Duhok, headed by Professor Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of the University, participated in the conference's third day of sessions, which included the following:
A session titled:
"How to Confront Comprehensive Crises and the Role of Higher Education in Them." The session was presented by Professor Dr. Mike Berners-Lee, a professor at Lancaster University in the UK and a prominent expert in sustainable development with several publications in this field.
A session titled:
"The Official Announcement of the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2025," with the participation of more than 2,500 universities from around the world, demonstrating their commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
A session titled:
"Creating the Future: Preparing the Next Generation of Leaders for a Sustainable World." The session was presented by Dr. Nicole Rousseau, Director of Sustainability at IE University in Segovia, Spain. Dr. Adam Jagiello Rosylowski, Academic Director at Innocamp Pl in Poland; Dr. Andrzej Lindner from the University of Leipzig in Germany; and Dr. Nazih Khadaj Melat from Al Ain University (AAU) in the United Arab Emirates.
A session titled:
"The Role of Higher Education in Saudi Vision 2030" was presented by Professor Dr. Ahmed Al-Yamani, President of Prince Sultan University (PSU) in Saudi Arabia.
A session titled:
"Building Effective Partnerships between Academia, Industry, and Government for Global Health and Well-being" was presented by Dr. Twinkle Bahaduri from the Australian Institute of Business; Dr. Bulent Kılıç, President of the Association of Public Health Professionals in Turkey; and Dr. Fariba Soyten, Director of Policy and Research at the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU).
