As part of its ongoing commitment to community engagement and professional development, the Zakat Al-Ilm Foundation, in collaboration with the College of Nursing at Cihan University – Duhok, launched a specialized training course tailored for physicians and nurses in Duhok. This initiative was implemented based on the recommendation of Professor Dr. Zeravan Abdulmuhsen Asaad, President of Cihan University – Duhok, and under the supervision of Dr. Layla Muhammad Saleh, Dean of the College of Nursing.

The training course, titled “From Needle to Knot: Wound Suturing Techniques,” commenced on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

The opening day of the course witnessed strong participation from nursing students representing various institutions in Duhok. The session focused on the theoretical foundations of wound suturing, including principles of tissue approximation and the appropriate use of surgical instruments.

Instruction was provided by Mr. Karzan Ismail Mohammed, Clinical Coordinator at the College of Nursing and a practitioner with extensive surgical experience. His clear and academically rigorous approach contributed significantly to the participants’ understanding and practical competence.
