Scientific Participation of the Consultation and Research Center – Cihan University Duhok in an International Scientific Conference

The Consultation and Research Center – Cihan University Duhok participated in the activities of the International Scientific Conference entitled:

“The Crime of Genocide and the Realization of International Justice: Documentation and Accountability – ISIS Crimes against the Yazidi Community as a Model,”

which was held by the College of Law / University of Baghdad, in cooperation with the College of Law and Political Science / Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University (peace be upon him), on 9 December 2025, at the College of Law building, University of Baghdad – Al-Waziriyah.

The Center’s participation was represented by the Director of the Center, Dr. Dzwar Ahmed Piramis, who presented a scientific research paper entitled:

“Between Recognition and Neglect: Evaluating the Yazidi Female Survivors Law in Compensating the Damages of Genocide in Iraq in Light of International Standards.”

The Director of the Center actively participated in the conference sessions by presenting a scientific summary of the research and contributing to the academic discussions that addressed the legal and humanitarian dimensions of genocide crimes, particularly those committed against the Yazidi community, in accordance with the rules of international law and relevant international standards.

This participation comes within the framework of the Consultation and Research Center – Cihan University Duhok’s commitment to supporting specialized scientific research and strengthening the university’s academic presence in international scientific conferences, in a manner that contributes to serving humanitarian causes and consolidating the principles of justice and the rule of law.
