Sarkawt Ahmed Sami, born in 1950, graduated from Department of Physics, College of Science, University of Baghdad 1972, obtained his M.Sc. with distinction in Theoretical Physics from the same university in 1975, and his Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from Duhok University in 2004. He worked as visitor lecturer at the Department of Physics, College of Science, University of Al-Mustansiria, Baghdad in 1976, and later in 1977 was appointed as Assistant Lecturer at the Department of Physics, College of Science, University of Sulaimania. In January 1981 got the title of Lecturer. Later, June 1981, transferred to Erbil, University of Salahaddin. In September 1994, he was transferred to Duhok University and appointed the Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies till November 1999. During 2006-2010, he was appointed the Dean of College of Science, Duhok University. Presently, he is secondmented to Cihan University-Duhok as the Director of Scientific Research Center and, at the same time, he is the Acting Head of Department of Computer Science. Till 1976, Dr. Sarkawt is lecturing under- and post-graduates (MSc and PhD) in different Universities of Iraq and, mainly, of Kurdistan. During the same period, he participated in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs of the Universities of Duhok, Salahaddin, Sulaymaniya and Zakho; in teaching courses and as head or member of more than 25 M.Sc. and Ph.D. defense committees of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science. Also, he supervised many M.Sc. and Ph.D. students, published many papers in local and international academic journals and represented with many papers in national and international Conferences. Currently, he is supervising three Ph.D. students.

 

1992 – 2014: Member, programmer and executor, Student’s Admission Center, Ministry of Higher education and Scientific Research, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. 1994 – 1999: Vice-President for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies, University of Duhok, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. 2006 – 2010: Dean of College of Science, University of Duhok, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. 2016 – So far: Director of Scientific Research Centre and Acting Head of Department of Computer Science, Cihan University-Duhok, Kurdistan Region, Iraq. 1990 – So far: Member of committees of revision of Physics Curricula for Kurdistan Universities three times.

1976– So far: Teaching many courses to undergraduate and postgraduate (MSc and PhD) students in the fields of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Programming at the Universities of Al-Mustansiria, Sulaimaniya, Salahaddin, Duhok and Zakho, Iraq.
